When Gaspare Campari created Campari in 1860 he began to teach people how to drink it. One way was inventing a cocktail he called the Milano Torino. Named after the home of Campari, Milano and the home of Italian vermouth, Torino. The drink was so popular with Americans in Italy, it was nicknamed the Americano and the name stuck!
INGREDIENTS
TO MIX
Build all ingredients in a short glass and garnish with an orange wedge and lemon zest
TIP
To make the true Americano the garnish is vital. An orange wedge and lemon twist. And for a strong difference, after the famous Count – replace the soda with a nip of Gin to make a life changing experience. The Negroni!
